Millionaire Morning Routine

How you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. If you can master the morning, the rest will fall into place. In this post, I share powerful tips to help you set up a morning routine that empowers and motivates you!

Almost any motivational speaker you listen to will tell you the same things that I am about to tell you right now. I have listened to many inspirational videos, podcasts, and have read a great amount of self-help books... and for that reason I have been able to implement these into my own life and create this list for you. Find any successful person and see what their morning routine consists of... I am POSITIVE many of these things are consistent with what they follow.

“You will never have this day again, so make it count!"

1. Wake Up Early.

Between 4:30AM and 5:00AM is my #1 recommendation.

If you read this and immediately think "ugh, I can't function if I wake up that early... you're insane! I need my sleep" and a million other excuses, you are already setting yourself back. You can 100% get up at that time, but you have to WANT to do it. ANY single person on this Earth has the ability to wake up early in the morning, but you need to begin by setting yourself up for success the night before. If you go to sleep at 1:00AM every day, of course this is going to sound like a miserable task. Just keep in mind that by waking up this early, you will have so much more time to get things done before your day really even starts. On top of that, (not that you should compare yourself to anyone) you will feel like you have a head start once you realize you have accomplished so much so early and the rest of the world is just waking up.

If you are still thinking that waking up this early is absolutely impossible or you are somebody who works overnight hours and feel as though this doesn’t apply to you, simply start waking up one hour earlier than you normally would.

2. Make Your Bed.

I cannot stress this enough. It sounds like a horrible chore that your parents used to force you into doing, but it honestly makes all the difference. For one, your room instantly appears cleaner and more put together which gives off a feeling of relief or may release a small amount of stress from almost any person. When you leave to work for the day, you will have a clear mind knowing that your room is tidy, and if you work from home, you will have a fresh space to get started in. It is vital to take care of your space just as you take care of yourself. There is nothing better than coming home after a long day to a clear space where you are able to relax and unwind. Small habits make for big changes!

3. Get Exercising.

Starting the day with a workout has an unlimited amount of benefits. Aside from working towards a better body and overall health, you get your blood flowing first thing in the morning, you have more energy for the rest of the day and have less brain fog, you have fewer distractions, you will be more focused, and the list goes on and on. If you haven't quite jump started your fitness journey yet or for whatever reason just can't get yourself moving in the morning, you can still exercise. Get your mind moving by meditating, journaling, or doing something to start your day with focus and the least amount of thought/effort required.

4. Eat a FULFILLING, HEALTHY, and LIGHT breakfast.

Nourishing your body at all times of the day is important, but especially when it comes to breakfast. It is ideal to have something that is healthy & lightweight, unlike the huge, traditional American breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bacon, pancakes, you know how it goes). Eat foods that will give you more energy rather than make you tired, or even start with just a healthy smoothie and some fruit. Healing your mind and spirit includes healing your body with the proper foods in order to fuel you throughout the day and give you the motivation to complete your biggest tasks.

5. Listen to a Podcast, Motivational Video, or Sermon.

It is very important to feed your mind inspiring content first thing in the morning. Think about it- if you wake up in the morning and receive bad news, you are likely to be in a terrible mood for the rest of the day. Many successful entrepreneurs actually recommend you stay off of your phone for the first 30 minutes-1hour after you wake up. I admittedly still use my phone in the morning, but try to only pick it up to listen to motivational speeches that get me inspired for the day or music while I am working out. It would also be acceptable if you have a meditation app or something similar that you use when you wake up to start the day with a fresh mind. Scrolling through social media as soon as you open your eyes triggers emotions, requires effort, and may set the wrong tone for your day before it even begins. Only worry about the things you have absolute control over, set your intention for the day, and keep your mind clear as long as you possibly can before it is overwhelmed by the outside world.
